Who We Are
E CITY is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization and the Northern Ohio licensee of the Network for for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE).
What We Do
We teach urban youth from the greater Cleveland area about entrepreneurship and economic self-sufficiency. Nearly 1300 E CITY graduates carry with them a complete business plan and a better understanding of entrepreneurship and life skills!
Where We Are
We offer programs in Cleveland and surrounding area high schools and youth programming sites. Our program locations vary from semester to semester. See our current locations. We have offered more than 100 programs in various locations.
How It Works
Teachers are trained to deliver award-winning NFTE curriculum, complemented by our volunteer program which includes guest speakers, field trips, business plan coaching, and support from the E CITY staff. The program ends with a business plan competition where students present their business plans to a panel of guest judges for cash awards.
How We're Funded
In collaboration with our program partners, we solicit funding from area foundations. We also seek corporate sponsorships and hold an annual campaign.
How We're Different
In addition to our motivated Certified Entrepreneurship Teachers and NFTE's award-winning curriculum, through our role model guest speakers, field trip hosts and business plan coaches, we teach students that business can be a fun and rewarding way to achieve economic self-sufficiency.
