To ensure not only the students receive a rigorous academic education, E PREP has developed a class that focuses on four core classroom values. These values are used to emphasize the growth and character development of each student. We at E PREP believe this class is important for the growth and maturity of our students and school culture.

P.R.E.P. TIME:

The following acronym P.R.E.P. is used to be the basis of our classroom values. Each letter represents something meaningful and attainable for each homeroom.

Preparedness for class:  Students should have their homework, a DEAR book, pencil, and materials needed for class.

Respect for fellow students, teachers, and oneself:  No student should use inappropriate language or be disrespectful toward a student or teacher.

Excellent transition from class to class:  Students walk silently to every class.

Position (Learning Position) in all classes: When prompted, all students should be in learning position.

STRUCTURE:

After lunch students are directed back to their homerooms; where students are prompted with a question of the day.  The students keep a journal for the answers to the questions.  Students engage in a class wide discussion about the topic question.  Teachers task students with thinking critically about each question and how it pertains to them, their classmates, and their overall educational experience at Entrepreneurship Preparatory School

REWARDS:

Each week there is a school-wide homeroom competition where each homeroom's PREP is tracked.  Each class is tracked using a board where each teacher fills in the appropriate P.R.E.P. letters earned for that class period. The points are tallied at the end of the week. The homeroom with the most P.R.E.P. letters is considered the homeroom of the week. The winning homeroom receives a pizza party with their homeroom teacher to celebrate their achievement. The celebration gives the students a sense of achievement. Ultimately, students build morality and develop their own character.

THE VALUE OF P.R.E.P.:

• P.R.E.P. time separates E-PREP from other schools by helping to support a safe and orderly classroom environment.
• P.R.E.P creates a positive school/student culture because students work hard to strive for a full PREP board.
• These values support the schools mission: Every student will attend a four year college!
